Position Summary

This position will support production activities along with building related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Team Lead.

Essential Duties and Tasks

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Works from any of the following: specifications, diagrams, sketches, technical manuals, models, original designs or verbal instructions.

  • Light machine shop activities

  • Assist with Troubleshooting and repairing electrical problems ; performs electrical repairs and installations on Non-Energized circuits (commensurate with experience or training/certification).

  • Maintains facilities as directed by the Maintenance/Facilities Manager and/or Maintenance Team Lead, including but not limited to snow plowing, salting, yard maintenance, floor cleaning, general cleaning, painting, light electrical, light plumbing .

  • Conducts daily facilities maintenance inspections

  • Assists and Observes electro-mechanical/pneumatic devices in operation, diagnoses problems , performs corrective action and insures proper operation post-repair.

  • Disassembles devices to gain access to remove defective parts; uses hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools and occasionally. Installs repair parts and reassembles devices .

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes and dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.

  • Must be available for “call-in” and overtime on all shifts

  • Ability to operate a scissor lift, UTV/snowplow, snowblower, and forklift with a valid license issued by ProAmpac Franklin Park.

  • Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment when quality or efficiencies are less than standard.

  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices or products.

  • Assist engineering with installation, testing and validation of new products and production equipment.

  • Assist with EHS related activities as needed.

  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.

  • Comply with all company policies, and all quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as any regulatory or statutory requirements related to the position.

  • All other duties and tasks as assigned.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a manufacturing environment with safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.

This role operates in a manufacturing environment. Employee is exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

Use hands to handle tools or controls, stand or walk for long periods of time, bend or twist their body, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Additionally, use of hands and fingers to grasp, move or assemble very small objects, holding the arm and hand in one position, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, lift/push/pull/carry heavy objects. Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 1-year trade experience with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.

  • Flexible packaging manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Working knowledge in operation and maintenance of facility management services, plumbing and electrical systems, security systems and equipment maintenance.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
