  • Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization and externally with vendors. Develop robust documentation and share the information amongst approved individuals within the company.

  • Builds an outstanding purchasing department that is responsive to internal and external needs while having the discipline to achieve better than average results. Improve technical skills within the department to manage tight timelines and deadlines while minimizing redundancy.

  • Works closely with Technical team to identify future needs and develop system to handle project growth.

  • Develops strategic sourcing plans, including budget and price forecasts

  • Assists in reviewing, evaluating and approving specifications for issuing and awarding supply bids. Implement effective purchasing systems and best practices and hold vendors to high performance standards.

  • Assists in preparation and evaluation of bid proposals, and negotiation with suppliers, including favorable terms and condition.

  • Researches and recommends vendors

  • Participates in supplier qualification program

  • Maintain ERP system information as it relates to lead times, purchase order creation, and pricing

  • Resolves disputes with vendors; monitors supplier performance.

  • Participates in the design, development, and implementation of purchasing process.

  • Participates in aggressive annual savings targets and strive for continuous improvement. Engage vendors more frequently and solicit technical support at regular intervals.

  • Improve technical skills to manage tight timelines and deadlines while minimizing redundancy.

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related fields. 5+ years procurement experience.

  • 3-5 years' experience with integrated purchasing/MRP information systems (preferably iSeries), CPM or CPIM Certification preferable.

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to communicate both orally and verbally to all levels of the organization.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task .

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
