Duties:

• Assists in overseeing the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF system, including Good Manufacturing Practices and the packaging food safety plan.

• Supervises and manages all Production Supervisors to ensure that their critical job functions are being completed.

• Ensure all safety policies are followed and implemented as needed.

• Drives improvement through all processes using improved work practices, Flexing of crews, meeting cross training objectives while maintaining our production goals.

• Assists Human Resources and Plant Manager in policy inception and implementation.

• Responsible for achievement of production goals concerning safety, quality, waste, and productivity.

• Manages the day-to-day tactical aspects of achieving the plant production strategies and goals.

• Represents the Production Departments on the Plant Leadership Team (PLT).

• Initiates process improvement projects to address production issues impacting achievement of plant strategies and goals.

• Recommends and initiates capital expense projects needed to reach plant goals now and in the future.

• Assists in process implementation, change, support and follow through, with the Quality department.

• Provides manufacturing support for product development activities and production trial orders.

• Generates reports through the IT systems (CSI, Syteline) concerning production metrics and initiates projects as needed to reach production goals.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• Background in flexible packaging

• The production manager will support all initiatives, lead improvement teams as needed.

• A key initiative of the production manager is ensuring that customer needs and expectations have been accurately full filled in the expected timeline and that the company is meeting or exceeding customer expectations in the most efficient manner.

• The production manager is involved in developing the production goals and targets of all machines within the organization’s strategic plan.

• Technical Competencies – production equipment (preferably in the multiwall industry), printing, product flow, raw materials (paper and film), maintenance, information systems (computer literacy)

• Project Management skills – able to define scope, establish plan, assign accountabilities and monitor progress

• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office

• Ability to effectively answer questions or present information to others.

• Ability to delegate tasks and duties to direct reports.

• Ability to interact with customers and visitors to the plant.
