Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for collaborating with various teams (Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Customers) to produce samples and prototypes based on requests. In this highly collaborative role, the individual will work in unison with other DASL employees to meet timelines, cross-check quality of work and complete lab maintenance, safety, and training of others. All responsibilities are shared amongst the team, requiring professional and prompt communication.

  • Brainstorm ideas and create illustrations, diagrams, graphics and prototypes that meet DASL specifications and criteria

  • Test prototypes to ensure quality is similar to commercially manufactured samples, as well as provide corrective actions when quality isn’t met

  • Operate and maintain equipment in the lab, ensuring all equipment is in working order, clean and updated as required

  • Develop processes and test procedures for unique prototype requests

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following good housekeeping practices, keeping lab organized and clutter free, and storing supplies properly

  • Follow proper lab safety procedures by adhering to company, site, and DASL policies

  • Utilize professional communication with fellow employees, customers and clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering or related field

  • 1-3 years of related experience

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or AutoCAD

  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, staff, and internal and external clients

  • Strong time management and organization skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • Self-motivated and proactive professional that thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Effective collaborator and team player
