Position Summary

Responsible for providing maintenance and engineering services; providing information and serving as a resource to the Maintenance Department; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining equipment and services in compliance with established guidelines, codes, and regulations.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Provide engineering and construction management support for equipment purchases and installation which include specifications, design, cost estimates, schedules, and installation supervision.

  • Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following safety rules. Takes on projects to address safety related issues identified by safety observations, risk assessments and near miss incidents.

  • Commitment, awareness, and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.

  • Duties relating to the Maintenance Technician and/ or Electrician role

  • Apply engineering principles and practices to ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.

  • Develop scope of services and project control for contractors.

  • Support for maintenance programs, equipment reliability and budgets covering plant production and auxiliary equipment to include development, implementation, and oversight of preventive/predictive maintenance program(s) to minimize equipment downtime

  • Demonstrates leadership ability; motivates employees to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others; gives appropriate recognition to others.

  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, contractors, and suppliers.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with moderate to high safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required. Must be able to assess risk of nonroutine tasks and develop a safe work plan to protect self and others from injury.

Must be capable to enter a confined space using proper procedures, PPE, and extraction equipment

This role, also, operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is occasionally exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

Physical Demands

Climbing Stairs, Bending, Twisting, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling and Squatting. Walking or standing on concrete floors for most of shift. Lifting is minimal, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Exposure to coatings and solvents. Exposed to extreme heat when shimming the die. Good and reliable attendance. Willing to work OT as required for projects, vacation coverage and sick/ STD coverage

Shift formats vary (8 hours, 12 hours, nights, days)


  • Coursework relating/ leading to Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical preferred). Work experience of 1+ years in a production environment. Certification/ License preferred.

  • Completed training as Maintenance Technician/ Millwright with direct experience maintaining Printing Press, Film Extrusion and Rewinding equipment preferred.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook email/ calendar capabilities), Teams

  • Proficient skills with AutoCAD and engineering drawings/ schematics.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems, determine root cause, develop/ implement solutions.
