Position Summary

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the overall management and coordination of Maintenance Technicians and plant operations consistent with the Company’s safety, quality, cost, profit and productivity objectives. The Team Leader is responsible for the development of their team and to ensure all company goals are communicated and achieved.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Overall supervision of departmental activities/ personnel including use of ADP for scheduling shift coverage and timecard approvals.

  • Manage, coach, and develop employees to achieve established safety, team, and plant goals

  • Manage the performance of team members including:

  • Writing and delivering Employee Performance Evaluations

  • Administering Corrective Action Reports when warranted

  • Positive recognition

  • Develop employees and create a “High Performance Team Environment”

  • Ensure Maintenance employees are properly trained and comply with processes and procedures.

  • Maintain a high standard of professional ethics when dealing with peers and subordinates.

  • Ensure clear, effective communication is provided, verbally and/or written, to all team members.

  • Ensure conformance to the Quality and Safety systems and procedures.

  • May be required to perform other housekeeping and/or other maintenance related functions as required by Management.

  • Manage Work Order system (Maximo) to coordinate Preventive Maintenance shutdowns and assign work to Technicians and Operators (during PMs).

  • Works with Production and Technical departments to troubleshoot equipment issues, propose solutions and implement corrective actions.

  • Monitor and maintain inventories of spare parts in cribs and crate rack inventory. Coordinate preparation and shipping of tooling/ parts to vendors for repair/ refurbishment.

  • Other projects or duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Prior positions of equipment maintenance in similar environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical/ controls engineering manufacturing or equivalent lifetime experience preferred

  • 3-5 years prior Leadership or Management experience in a same or similar environment preferred

  • Prior experience utilizing Microsoft Office, Maximo/CMMS, and PeopleSoft preferred

  • Work independently and as part of a team, effectively communicate, good math and mechanical skills, get along with others, positive attitude and well organized.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work shifts assigned including but not limited to: M-F plus weekend OT, 12 hour rotating day/night shift, extra coverage as needed.
