This position will be responsible for procurement of raw materials, consumables, and non-inventory items.
Essential Duties and Tasks

Enter purchase orders with suppliers as needed (as required through sales quotes or to replenish inventory programs). Track and expedite purchase orders to ensure deliveries meet production requirements. Release orders from suppliers that are on a “make and hold” program to support production schedules.
Process sales quotes: Enter order with supplier and/or use existing inventory to fulfill customers’ orders. Enter delivery date(s) for raw materials and send to scheduling.
Make appropriate changes on existing orders for any sales order change supply raw material dates/lead time for any sales inquiries.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels per goals.
Maintain inventory levels for raw materials for customers with inventory programs, including internal W00 programs.
Maintain PO dates in Peoplesoft system to track accurate delivery information.
Communicate to scheduling any delivery delays for raw materials that will negatively affect machine schedules.
Approve invoices for raw materials as needed (verify pricing/proof of delivery). Contact suppliers to request any missing or incorrect invoices.
Contact suppliers as requested by quality for any specifications on raw materials. Contact suppliers and make changes as requested by manufacturing.
Back up corporate procurement with quotes and lead times. Work with suppliers on new materials. Negotiate with suppliers on any inventory programs, terms and discounts to bring our costs down.
Coordinate with receiving to ensure on-time deliveries.
Communicate “need by” dates to receiving to support machine schedules.
Update and maintain raw material pricing in Peoplesoft.
Maintain approved Supplier List.
All other duties as required.
Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Associates Degree from a two-year college preferred; or three plus years related experience and / or training in a large manufacturing organization; or equivalent combination of the two.
Skilled in both tactical and strategic procurement – demonstrated ability to look at both the near-term needs of buying material and the longer-term strategic objectives of the corporation to drive purchasing decisions
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office
Demonstrated critical thinking – ability to translate broader corporate objectives into purchasing decisions
Team player mentality with multitasking and interpersonal skills and a general sense of urgency
Some travel to suppliers or other company facilities as required
Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
