Position Summary

This position will be responsible for assisting in the quality operation of a printing press as well as being the back-up operator of the printing press.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Operate printing press as needed.

  • Take direction from the 1 st and 2 nd (if applicable) Operators.

  • Coordination of duties with Operator to minimize waste and downtime.

  • General Cleaning on Wash up and Set-up (i.e. sink work).

  • Preparing for upcoming jobs.

  • Retrieving ink from inventory.

  • Staging of ink and plates.

  • Shop floor data input.

  • Retrieving and cutting cores as needed.

  • Empty trash/Food waste bins as needed.

  • General press area cleaning (including AIB, ISO, etc….).

  • Other duties as designated as assigned.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a non-climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes are required to be worn on the production floor. Jewelry of any kind (including stud earrings, facial piercings, and wedding bands), hooded sweatshirts and t-shirts with pockets are not allowed on the production floor. If you require a medical ID bracelet it must be of the breakaway kind.

  • Climbing Stairs, Bending, Twisting, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling and Squatting.

  • Walking or standing on concrete floors.

  • Lifting is minimal, occasionally up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment/machinery safely.

Shift(s): Overnights (6pm-6am)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Good math and reading skills required.

  • Prior operation of same or similar equipment preferred.

  • Work independently and as part of a team, effectively communicate, good math and mechanical skills, get along with others, positive attitude and well organized.

  • Valid state issued driver’s license.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated individual who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
