Role Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee the Accounting staff that handles AP and billing for various business units. They will assist with the management of completing month-end close for those units. This includes, but is not limited to, completing analyses, reviewing statements and managing the team to ensure accuracy. They will also use these skills to identify and facilitate the implementation of new processes and standardization of those already existing.

  • Utilize accounting principles to prepare, analyze and review financial statements

  • Review and explain variances to budget/forecast, as well as previous periods, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Design and monitor effective internal controls. To monitor effectiveness, they will partner with customers to gather feedback

  • Develop and maintain schedules and reconciliations of accounts involved in month end closings

  • Collaborate accounting matters for additional ProAmpac departments


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. CPA preferred

  • Six years of experience in related field

  • Customer-service mindset; consistently anticipating and meeting the needs of internal customers while fostering positive working relationships

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Teams

  • Experience using PeopleSoft financial management preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; need to be comfortable talking to executive leadership, staff and clients

  • Self-confident and self-motivated professional that thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while balancing priorities to meet deadlines
