We are actively seeking a Director of Engineering to join our growing team in our Flexibles Division. The Director of Engineering is responsible to fulfill the project engineering for the Division’s manufacturing sites and within other ProAmpac facilities as requested. The position is responsible to meet ProAmpac’s fixed capital asset needs through the timely execution of high-quality capital projects at the lowest possible cost, working collaboratively and cross functionally with key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all projects are executed in a safe manner, creates an environment of Safety First. Ensures all team members are properly trained to safely perform their duties.

  • Coaches, mentors, trains and directs the engineering resources assigned in the key areas required for effective safe performance

  • Accurate scope definition, project cost estimates and schedule generation and management

  • Partners with Key Stakeholders to develop equipment solutions to meet business needs. This would include capacity increases, capability requirements and obsolescence upgrades.

  • Actively participates with Operations Leadership Team to set direction and optimize the Team’s effectiveness in supporting the goals of ProAmpac.

  • Provides project management (in terms of managing project costs, project scheduling and in supplying pertinent communication) for multiple highly complex and wide-ranging engineering projects when necessary.

  • Participates in the generation of the annual Capital Plan.

  • Provides, in a timely manner, the required information and reports regarding Capital Plan performance and individual Capital Project status.

  • Assists in the coordination and the administration of volume purchasing agreements.

  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies in the Industry, including specialties within the flexible packaging market.

  • All other duties as assigned


  • Advance degree in Engineering and 10+ years of related experience; or

  • A BS Engineering degree or equivalent and a minimum of 15 years of engineering exposure to ProAmpac or similar flexible packaging operations

  • 7+ years in a Supervisory/Managerial role relating to a technical area.

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Effective sourcing/purchasing skills

  • In-depth understanding of ProAmpac Flexible Packaging plants, processes, equipment and products.
