Job Description

ProAmpac is a leading global flexible packaging company that manufactures packaging for some of the world's largest brands and we want you to join our team!

Right now, ProAmpac is searching for a Cost/Pricing Analyst to join our team at our Wrightstown, Wisconsin location. As a Pricing Analyst, you will work to analyze and compare current costs to provide price guidance on our new or existing business opportunities. This position would be able to be performed remotely or through a hybrid work arrangement.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Cost Analysis: Create manufacturing cost estimates based on cost driver assumptions (sourced from Sales, Product Development, Manufacturing, Procurement and historical actual production data). This includes providing re-costing guidance when presented with changes driven by raw materials, product structure or trial- to-commercialization process transition.

  • Price & Margin Analysis: Determine pricing levels that meet agreed-upon margin guidelines and/or pricing strategy for the specific situation/market.

  • RFQ and Bid Analysis: Closely collaborate and help to provide leadership to bid team to complete bid preparation, analysis and submission. Use decision making skills to ensure correct assumptions are being used for the particular project. This may also include creating calculations , maintaining/updating a working copy of the bid spreadsheet, and other tasks as designated by Manager.

  • Cost Model Usage and Development: Support various locations as needed using site-specific cost models. Maintain, develop and test cost models as needed to reflect updated processes, production parameters, raw material usage and new equipment configurations.

  • Escalator/De-Escalator Development: Validate and develop Escalator/De-Escalators (price management tools) as business needs dictate.

  • Projects: Responsible for cost and price analysis projects which may include (but not limited to) analysis of existing pricing, work order cost breakdown, comparison of actual production cost vs cost model assumption, customer price sheet optimization.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program or three (3) years related experience and/or training in pricing or accounting (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing concepts and parameters such as Bill-of-Materials (BOM’s), Routes, Basis Weights, Machine Hour Rates, Waste, Setup time, Downtime, Machine minimums, Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ’s), Standard costs and Variances.

  • Ability to accurately and efficiently use algebra and geometry to calculate unit-of-measure conversions, yields, freight rates, pricing discounts, interest, commissions, margins, percentages, etc.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to verify information provided is consistent and appropriate for the specific request. Ability to identify problems, use and communicate appropriate simplifying assumptions when possible and develop solutions/options to ensure each analysis is performed efficiently and successfully.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel including formulas and pivot tables as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, BI tools, application software and ERP usage.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, excellent time management, organization and attention-to-detail skills. Ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establishing appropriate priorities to meet deadlines.
