Job Description

Position Summary

ProAmpac, a global packaging manufacturer is looking for a Supply Chain/Production Planning Intern out of its Wrightstown, WI location. This position would be a temporary role for the Fall 2022 semester and the possibility of continuing into the Spring 2023 semester. It is anticipated workload for the position would be 15 -20 hours per week.

This position is responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of the organization by providing support by managing, participating or assisting in designated projects, assisting in the administration of department functions and provide support as needed. They will have the opportunity to gain experience and exposure to core supply chain and production planning activities such as the scheduling of production orders on machinery and assisting with maintenance/analysis efforts in forecasting and capacity planning.

  • Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures that co-workers are also following safety rules.

  • Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.

  • Demonstrates appropriate attitude in all dealings with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

  • Communicates with vendors and Shipping/Receiving department to coordinate deliveries of raw material.

  • Manages the “Minimum/Maximum” programs to support customer needs

  • Supports department key performance indicators by collecting/coding data in appropriate databases

  • Supports daily communication reports for department such as production schedule changes, ship date changes, etc.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Current student within Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management or other equivalent program from two-year or four-year college or technical school.

  • Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite(e.g. MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word)

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
