ProAmpac Rochester

Salary Range : $19.00-26.00+/hour based upon level and experience

On-site, Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm, on call every 4th weekend.

FLSA Full Time, Non-Exempt

Job Description:

  • Works from any of the following: specifications, diagrams, sketches, technical manuals, models, original designs or verbal instructions.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems; performs electrical repairs and installations on Non-Energized circuits (commensurate with experience or training/certification).

  • Maintains facilities as directed by the Maintenance Senior Staff including, but not limited to snow plowing, salting, yard maintenance, floor cleaning, painting, light electrical, light plumbing.

  • Conducts daily facilities maintenance inspections checks

  • Build fixtures and machine attachments to support production.

  • Observes electro-mechanical/pneumatic devices in operation, diagnoses problems, performs corrective action and insures proper operation post-repair.

  • Disassembles devices to gain access in order to remove defective parts; uses hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools and occasionally installs repaired parts and reassembles devices.

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes and dimensional requirements using measuring instruments.

  • Must be available for “call-in” and overtime on all shifts

  • Ability to operate a scissor lift, UTV/snowplow, snowblower, and forklift with a valid license issued by ProAmpac Rochester.

  • Assist and/or perform production equipment set-ups as directed. Operate production equipment as needed in accordance with good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment when quality or efficiencies are less than standard.

  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices or products.

  • Assist Production Dept. based on scheduled demands.

  • Assist with the managing of Tool Room as needed.

  • Sets up and operates all Level I and Level II equipment.

  • Trains and assists lower level Maintenance Techs

  • Assist with EHS activities as necessary

  • Assist engineering with installation, testing and validation of new products and production equipment.

  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.

  • Comply with all company policies, and all quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as any regulatory or statutory requirements related to the position.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus 3-5 years trade experience with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.

  • Flexible packaging manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Working knowledge in operation and maintenance of facility management services.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

Work Environment:

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required on the production floor at all times.

This role operates in a professional environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

Additionally, use of hands and fingers to grasp, move or assemble very small objects, holding the arm and hand in one position, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, lift/push/pull/carry heavy objects. Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds.
